Sand & Spur is located on Eglin Air Force Base, providing a safe environment for boarding privately owned horses. Membership is by application and is open to active duty military, retired military, and civilian members. Riding lessons and rentals are not services offered. Non-members must be escorted at all times by a member of Sand & Spur.Sand & Spur is surrounded by acres of wooded trails, a lake, and Choctawhatchee Bay.The facility features a club house with a small kitchen, two bathrooms (for colts and fillies), 62 permanent barns with tack rooms and paddocks, and two quarantine stalls.

Sand & Spur has a dressage ring, a multi purpose arena, a jumping arena, a farrier shed, three round pens, a turn out arena, trailer parking, and a community wash rack.

Sand & Spur is located on the south side of the road, Memorial Trail, and is east of the Commissary and BX. Memorial Trail runs in front of the BX and Commissary.In addition, the club sponsors a 4H group called the Eglin Equestrians.
